The food had variety and was well-presented. Staff regularly checked the buffet and promptly cleaned up spills. The hardworking and friendly staff provided excellent service. The hotel had a fresh coat of paint and well-maintained gardens. The rooms featured balconies with beautiful ocean views.

Unique base for a trip in Funchal! The hotel was just walking distance from Praia Formosa. 750 feet away there is Espettus. We liked our time at the venue, thanks.

The room was spacious and clean, with a fantastic view. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The pool and gardens were well-maintained. The location was convenient, with a free shuttle service to the town. The food was delicious and there was a good variety of options. The hotel had a nice bar and the drinks were enjoyable.

The hotel was located uphill from the main road, which made it a bit challenging to walk. The entertainment options were limited and not very engaging.

Maybe the only hotel in Funchal situed on the beach, wonderfull on this island

The internet is very expensive (3e 15min or 9e 1h), althought it seems free if you have a laptop !!!

What a fantastic hotel with outstanding view ! Pestana Bay is located nearby to the ocean, sometimes I and my wife even felt ourselves like in cruise:) every room in the hotel has a balcony with awesome ocean view ( ! ) and relaxing sounds of the waves, equipped with a table and 2 chairs ( perfect place to drink a glass of Madera wine in the evening time ), the rooms are provided with mini-kitchen and everything needed ( forks, spoons, plates, tray, glasses for wine & champagne, kettle), are well air-conditioned ( but in Madeira you don't need it all because of climate features & remarkably fresh air ), "All iclusive" system is everything you need to have a wonderful rest: I never was hungry, moreover, being involved in model industry, my wife tried to restrict herself from a wide range of the dishes available every day ( fish of different kinds, chicken: roast & braised , pork with different vegetables & spices, rice with shrimps, pasta with seafood , ragout, baked potato, kebabs and much much more), access to sauna & bath facilities. Also, it was a pleasant surprise that the staff of the hotel has indicated the time of our arrival to Funchal ( it was about midnight time ) and prepaired dinner for us ( we found it in our room after check-in ). Girls on reception are always kind & welcome, ready to provide you a valuable assistance \ advise \ explainations on every request. Due to them we bought an exciting trips to Porto Santo & Porto Moniz. But what personally I and my wife liked a lot : is a one-minute access to the beach promenade with unsurpassed cooling clean ocean water. Later we had a possibility to visit Pestana Carlton & Savoy hotels located close to each other and I was surprised with the fact, that they are all situated 5 minutes walk to the city Port ( as for me, these hotels are a good choice for those people, who like to swim in the pool only ). In Pestana Bay, on the contrary, you will have a beach holiday in full sense of these words.

Special hotel, the stay was real good, excellent location to overcrowded restaurant at times. Brand-new units with wonderful view. Location not far from Capo Girao cliff and lovely sunsets and moonlight or Milky Way on starry nights.

We had a fantastic stay at a hotel with an outstanding ocean view! The rooms were equipped with everything we needed and had a balcony where we could relax and enjoy the sound of the waves. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the all-inclusive system ensured we never went hungry. The location was great, with easy access to the beach promenade. it was a perfect place for a beach holiday.
